Bakers Walking Company

By popular demand – Day Walks are here

Our luxury multi-day tours inspired a new idea: a single day in the wild with the same food, guides and private Tasmanian landscape.

Overview

Our guided day walk explores a private 1,137-acre wilderness beside Narawntapu National Park. Covering easy to moderate terrain through forest and open bushland, the experience combines Tasmanian nature, local produce and small-group comfort.

We keep groups small — usually 4 to 8 guests — allowing plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and connect with the environment. A fresh Tasmanian lunch and refreshments are included, served in the heart of the property.

Located just 15 minutes from Port Sorell, 30 minutes from Devonport and 60 minutes from Launceston, the walk runs for approximately five hours. Suitable for guests aged 12 and over, with flexible cancellation up to two days before departure.

Silence & Solitude

Walk through country untouched by crowds or vehicles — nothing but the sounds of wind, waves, and native birds.

Wildlife in Abundance

Spot kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and wedge-tailed eagles — nearly every Tasmanian species in one region.

Safe Wilderness Close to Home

Experience Tasmania’s wild side without venturing far from civilisation. Our private property offers untouched nature just minutes from Devonport — remote in feel, yet close enough for comfort and safety.

Activity Details

Experience Tasmania in rare seclusion on a privately owned 1,137-acre wilderness estate beside Narawntapu National Park. This guided 7 km walk (10:30 AM – 3:30 PM) explores fossil gullies, she-oak woodland and open grasslands alive with native wildlife.

Led by a local guide specialising in flora, fauna and natural history, you’ll uncover the region’s geology, ecosystems and cultural storylines. Around midday, enjoy a relaxed Tasmanian picnic-style lunch made from locally sourced ingredients.

With just 4–8 guests per group, it’s a truly intimate experience — no crowds, no vehicles, only the sounds of wind and sea. A curated immersion into one of Tasmania’s most exclusive coastal landscapes, unchanged since the last Ice Age.
